NuSphere PHPEd 4.0 is out. I’ve downloaded the demo version. It got some cool stuff such as:
- SFTP support… finally…
- Oracle and MSSQL databases, even tho I wont need it for the time being
- Enhanced Code Insight including Code Completion. I really enjoy this feature.
- Project-wide code explorer. Very useful when you got API on many files
Well
I think it’s more stable than the previous one. But it still lack one
thing I greatly needed: Subversion support! It still only support CVS.
And the code-folding feature like in Zend Studio 5 would be very nice.

Zend Studio 5
does these things better than NuSphere PHPEd. But the frickin’
java-based application is driving me nuts. It makes my Pentium 4 PC
looks like an old 80386!!!
Speaking of Java, a few days ago when I was talking to my friend about his Java assignment, I found this anti-java site.
The front page contains a big forbidden mark with a text “Java” in it.
Suddenly I feel a deep strong primal urge to put the link on my Yahoo
Messenger status since many of my java-geek friends are on YM.
I
still cant understand why some Java programmer is very cocky about
their language. It’s like their god. They worship it. They embrace it.
And they say all other languages are lame.
Now
name me a website that contains a java applet that works fast, stable,
and do the job flawlessly! There are none! From what I see, Java is not
better than a language designed for a simple applet on your homepage. A
language designed just for a tic-tac-toe game!!!
And
what’ss making me becoming the fanclub of anti-java, their apps
consumes a lot of resources. The VM becomes a memory hog, and if your
computer is not fast enough, it will make your head burns you feel want
to blow your computer.
